Carbon Fiber Wrapping for Eccentric Column

Issue:

The column was experiencing structural instability due to eccentric loading, leading to increased stress concentration, cracks, and reduced load-bearing capacity. Conventional strengthening methods were either too invasive or unsuitable due to space constraints.

 
Solution:

We at SVC provided carbon fibre wrapping as a non-intrusive, high-strength reinforcement technique as the solution. The process involved surface preparation, epoxy bonding, and layers of carbon fibre application to enhance the column’s strength and load resistance without adding significant weight.
